Given the new development for higher density living at Ivedon Street, Banyo, and the increased traffic at the junction of Royal Parade and St Vincents Road at The Banyo rail crossing, there is a definite need to modify the existing intersection and particularly for traffic entering from Tufnell Road.
I would like to propose a change to the intersection of Royal Parade and St Vincent's Road, Banyo, that facilitates a dedicated turning lane from Royal Parade across the railway track. This would involve reducing or eliminating the central traffic island and having two lanes marked. One lane which is designated to turn left (across the railway tracks) and the other lane marked to travel straight ahead to St Vincents Road. By incorporating this change into Royal Parade at the Tufnell Road end, it will allow the free flow of traffic for vehicles travelling in the direction of St Vincent's Road which eventually leads onto Toombul Road.
