Narrow walkway from a major foot traffic area of Central Station to major intersection for shopping & eateries is compacted with smokers. Specifically spanning between the backpackers on the corner right down to the 7/11 on the corner of Edward and Adelaide Streets. Terrible introduction to the city for tourists & locals alike, awful smell & exposure to smoke for anyone walking along Edward Street with smokers spread on either side of the footpath. Central area with busy commute or meal times with no way to avoid the spread-out smokers right next to a blood donation centre, crosswalk & restaurants/coffee cart.
- ban smoking on Edward Street between Ann & Queen Streets
- request backpackers on the corner of Edward and Ann Streets to hold some responsibility for smoker litter, on fire bins & congestion at their entry way.
