To the Right Honourable Lord Mayor and Councillors of the City of Brisbane.
We the undersigned residents of Brisbane call on Lord Mayor Graham Quirk to review the current and proposed requirements for the provision of car parking in unit development in high density areas. Council’s current requirements for car parking in these unit developments are not sufficient to cater for the needs of residents living in many of these unit developments and are increasingly causing our neighbourhood streets to be parked out, making access difficult and reducing safety. If developers cannot meet the required car-parking ratios, as part of these developments, they should be made to adopt innovative car parking solutions, such as the incorporation of body corporate-managed car sharing/hiring programs.
