Residents draw to the attention of the longstanding issue of increasing volume of traffic and poor driver behaviour due to people using primarily Woking Street and Cribb Avenue, Mitchelton, as a short cut to/from Dawson Parade.
Your petitioners therefore request that the Council takes immediate action to resolve these traffic issues.
Your petition has been investigated and it was considered by the Establishment and Coordination Committee as delegate of Council at its meeting held on 24 April 2017. It was decided that the petitioners be advised of the information below.
Woking Street and Cribb Avenue are district roads, intended to allow for the movement of people and goods within and through suburbs, and provides access to local streets. Council conducted a traffic survey in February/March 2017 which determined that the average traffic volumes and average speed data are within acceptable limits for this district route. In this case, Council has not been able to find supporting evidence to warrant changes to this route at this time.
Observations of speeding are best dealt through the enforcement of the Queensland Roads Rules by the Queensland Police Service, contactable on 13 HOON (13 46 66).
